Macy's Day Parade Friday 24 Nov

Hello Scottie Lovers,

Macy’s have asked me again this year to gather the Clan for the Macy’s Holiday Parade Friday, November 24, 2017

If you would like to show your “Scottie Pride”. I will have the Sweatshirts and scarf’s. Just bring your Scottie and be ready for fun fun fun!

Attached is the info. We are to wear black/dark pants, they are providing us with Red Sweatshirts and a plaid scarf. Remember to wear something warm like a turtle neck sweater or long johns that can be under the red sweatshirt. They will also provide clear rain ponchos if it is raining. I know the everyone that attended last year enjoyed the short ten block walk.  It should be fun.  Please extend this invite to anyone with a Scottie that would enjoy the experience.

Parade Start Time: 9:00 AM, 7th Avenue & Pine Street Downtown Seattle

 

Washington State Scottish Terrier Club has been assigned #22.

Staging Map

 

8th and Pine St, West side of street, first group

Please by there between 7:30AM and 8:30AM.

Sweatshirts, scarfs, mittens and hats will be provided. Ponchos if needed.

Bring friendly dogs with leads. Customs are OK but not needed.

One dog per person is reasonable.

You will be interacting with people along the parade route eg letting people pet your dog, lifting dogs to be petted.

 

  1. Specific Formation Area Guidelines:
    1. Arrival Times
      1. Marching, Vehicle & Community Band entries should arrive no later than 8:00 AM on Friday, November 24, 2017.
      2. School Bands should arrive according to the schedule provided via separate email.
      3. All Volunteers & Costumed Characters should arrive between 7:30 am and 8:30 am. November 24, 2017. (As specified in separate letter.)
    1. All entries must be ready to go by 8:30 AM to ensure a prompt start to comply with City of Seattle regulations.
    1. The formation location for the parade is 7th, 8th and 9th Avenues between Olive & Pine Streets and Pine Street between 7th and Boren in downtown Seattle. (See enclosed Parade route map.)
    1. Please report directly to your designated area as shown on the enclosed staging map by your entry number. Lions Club representatives will be on hand to check in and direct all entries to the appropriate staging location. Please follow their direction and requests. There is no need to report to the Washington State Convention Center to check in. (Please note that we are no longer staging in the Grand Hyatt.)

 

    1. Directions to Parade Formation Area

FROM THE NORTH:

Take the Denny/Stewart Street Exit from I-5 South; head west on Stewart Street and turn left on 7th Avenue.  Travel one block to Olive Street and, depending on your designated staging location, you will either go straight on 7th Avenue or turn left to reach the 8th or 9th Avenue staging areas.  Participants should be dropped off on Olive Street as only vehicles in the parade will be allowed into the staging area.

FROM THE SOUTH:

Take the Seneca exit from I-5 North. Follow Seneca to 6th Avenue and turn right. Go 5 blocks and turn right on Olive Street. Then turn right onto 7th, 8th or 9th Avenue depending on your designated staging location. Participants should be dropped off on Olive Street as only vehicles in the parade will be allowed into the staging area.

 

Portable restroom facilities will be located on 8th Avenue between Olive and Pine Streets.
